Everybody Matters. Period.

Wait, wait, wait! Don’t read on so quickly.  Go back and look at that.  That’s the moral of the story:  Everybody Matters. Period.

For us, this isn't a talking point.  It’s not an opinion.  It’s our truth. 

We imagine a world in which Everybody Matters. Period. 

I wanted to stop writing after that first line, but I think there’s an arbitrary rule that blogs can’t be three little words and two pieces of punctuation, and so I write on. 

And how does this belief translate into our work? 

  • The children we support in schools, teaching them social and coping skills, know that they matter.  

  • The college interns we train to be enthusiastic skilled social work professionals, know that they matter.  

  • The teachers we teach to reimagine how they can be more effective with their students, know that they matter.  

  • The regular people in the community we coach to focus on solutions for their challenges, know that they matter. 

And we’ve learned that when people know that  they matter - things change for the better.  Their lives get better - as do the lives of the people around them.  And it’s pretty darned amazing that all of that feeling and being better is born out of three little words and two pieces of punctuation.   

Everybody Matters. Period.
