Lori Madrid, a 2021 ASU Field Educator of the Year, is a licensed clinical social worker and certified trauma professional with over 25 years experience. She founded Everybody Matters as a non-profit to train college level social work interns to teach lifelong coping and social skills, free of charge, to children in the school system who are unable to access those services elsewhere.
Each year, Everybody Matters serves over 1,200 students providing more than 10,000 face to face meetings. They are impacting schools across Arizona and plan to expand throughout the country.
Lori’s experience includes providing therapeutic services in a variety of settings including: working with families who are unsheltered in Spanish Harlem; providing outpatient therapy to foster children in the South Bronx; facilitating group, family, individual and equine therapy with children in psychiatric residential treatment and also working within the Title 1 School System.
Lori is strongly committed to supporting the Social Work field itself and has been actively involved in teaching in BSW and MSW programs at Arizona State University, Colorado State University, the University of Wyoming and Western New Mexico University. She has also consistently served as a field instructor and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of social workers.
