We’re teaching them in a frenzy -- learn, learn, learn we say. You’ve gotta know all this stuff before you start helping the kiddos.

And when the training ends, we shrug our shoulders and say, “okay - we just gave you the very itty bitty basics - you know nothing yet - your real teachers will be the kiddos. “

“Huh? What?” they say.

“Yep.” We assure them. The learning is in the DOING. Watch closely. Listen intently. Resist the urge to think you’re right. Cuz usually you’re not. But the kiddos will guide you.

Show up consistently with an open heart and an open mind. Then things get better. The kiddos find their own solutions. Their behavior changes. And sometimes you get the credit. But they did it. And you were lucky because they honored you by letting you be next to them while they succeeded.
